Duncan Gordon

Duncan graduated from Victoria University of Wellington (NZ) with a Bachelor of Laws and commenced work as a lawyer with one of New Zealand’s major commercial law firms.  He first worked in entertainment law in the early 1990s, including providing financing and other advice to New Zealand’s government funding agencies, the New Zealand Film Commission and NZ on Air.  Duncan is also admitted to practise as an Australian legal practitioner.  He has extensive experience in all aspects of financing, distribution and production contracting for film, television and other audio-visual productions within the Australian independent film and television industry. He has also previously advised Australian Federal and State Government funding agencies (both the New South Wales Film and Television Office and Film Finance Corporation Australia) on their investment and other financing of film and television productions.  Duncan continues to advise a major US Studio on production contracting matters for its motion picture production in Australia.
